Layout Collages and Sketches

For our latest in-class assignment, we were asked to create six layout compositions using grids and cut-out pieces of newspapers and magazines. Each layout had to have a headline, an image and a text. Four of them are A4s, two are A3s.

Here are the A4 compositions:

Sorry for the lower quality, the A3 ones couldn't fit into the scanner.

Then, we had to create at least three layout compositions for our font poster:

In the end, I didn't use any of these layout compositions, but that's beside the point. It was a great introductory exercise to layouts, since we got to observe how the magazines and newspapers did it, and apply it to our own ideas.
